Born on 27 April 1960 in Dijon to a father who was a musician with the Republican Guard in Paris, after a grammar school education and study of the piano, violin and trombone at the Conservatory for Music.
After passing the competitive entrance examination, he entered the National School of String Instrument Making in Mirecourt in 1976, in the bow making class under the guidance of Bernard Ouchard, bow maker at Vidoudez in Geneva for 20 years.
After three years of study and obtaining his instrument-making technician's diploma with a bow-making speciality in 1979, he completed a four-year apprenticeship in the workshop of Albert Claudot ("Best Craftsman in France") in Dijon.
He set up his own business in Dijon in 1983, devoting his time to producing new bows, restoring and maintaining old bows and providing expert advice.
He was appointed Judicial Expert by the Dijon Court of Appeal in 2022.
In my workshop, I offer bows made entirely by hand in the French tradition from old Pernambuco wood. I also make copies of old bows on request and carry out all repair and restoration work. My close ties with the most important stringed instrument makers and collectors have enabled me to work on authentic pieces ranging from François-Xavier Tourte to the most recent bow makers.
The quality and consistency of my work have enabled me to establish close links with clients in various foreign countries, which I visit regularly, including Japan, Denmark, Sweden, Finland, the United States, Switzerland, Italy, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Korea and, of course, France, more specifically Paris, where I work for the most prestigious makers.
You can buy directly my products for the maintenance of your bow: rosin for violin, viola and cello, grease for the screw and product to clean the metal and wooden parts of the bow
